35 week update

Well, 35 weeks, 1 day, and the BP is down much closer to normal, and at a level that the doc is okay with. I go back to see him on Thursday for a BP check, stress test for Ella Sue, and an ultra sound to be sure that she still has enough fluid to be swimming around in in there!

Please continue to keep us in your prayers!

Blog give-away entry

One of my online friends is giving away stuff on her blog. It is a line of stuff to wear at the hospital while in labor and delivery that is more comfortable and far more attractive than a hospital gown, not that that takes much. I obviously would want the robe, since I don't have a robe currently, and this one looks way comfy!!

Pregnancy update

Well, As it turns out, its true that each pregnancy gets a little bit harder, and the difficulties start a bit earlier. As most people know, a mere 2 days before Justin was born, my blood pressure shot up from 112/60 to 139/98, and late the next night, my labor was induced and ended in a c-section.

Fast forward 2 years to my pregnancy with Ada Grace and I my c-section which was scheduled for 38 weeks and 3 days, on July 7th. A little more than 2 weeks before that, I was having serious contractions every 2 minutes and was placed on bedrest for the last 2 weeks of the pregnancy, and she was born right on time, at 38 weeks nad 3 days.

Now, Here I am, at 34 weeks and 4 days, and my blood pressure has shot up again, more-than-likely a result of either the clotting disorder or the shots that treat it. 4:00 yesterday my doctor put me on bedrest. He wants to be sure that she isn't born before 36 weeks due to size as well as the immaturity of the suck/swallow/breathe reflex. Both of these things could result in a stink in the NICU which none of us wants. So--here I am, on bedrest, and out of work for the remainder of the year, all in the hopes that Ella Sue won't be born before 38 weeks.

Oh, and by the way, just for good measure, Ada Grace came home from from Auntie Donna's house throwing up and with a fever of 102.8. I have it down under 100 now, and she's getting some good sleep, but it just feels like with our reduced time frame to finish getting ready for Ella's arrival, maybe someone hid a candid camera in our house.

Wow--I STINK as a blogger!!

Its only been exactly 3 months since I posted anything on the blog, which I apologize for, but about a week after my last post life got really crazy at work unexpectedly, and won't calm down until school is over!

A few updates since my last post...

The baby's name is no longer Lilly--it is Ella Sue. My maternal great-grandmother's name was Louella, which she wasn't all that fond of, but we are still going to use the 2nd half of her first name, and my middle name for our little miracle. Ella Sue will be making her grand entrance into the world on June 15, as long as all continues to go as planned. Thus far she has been incredibly strong and healthy, and after a few scares, and me finding out that her placenta is on the front, which is why I can't feel her, put my mind at east in a BIG way!

Secondly, I am now teaching 4th grade full-time. I am no longer teaching music, and although I don't know what next year holds as far as a teaching assignment, I do know that I have been recommended for continued employment.

We are going to do a party for kids only on June 28 at Jumpin Beans. We will have a family birthday party the night before Ella is born (June 14) so that the family can be here and go to the hospital on the 15 if they would like.

That's it for now, but I wanted to let you all know.
